The Cacadu District makes up the western region of the Eastern Cape with the third lagest economy of the Province and a major contributor to the provincial GGP.
Description
The District's dominant sector is agriculture, producing quality produce such as apples, chicory, cotton, lucerne, pecan nuts, pineapples, wool, mohair, citrus, milk, beef cattle, ostrich products, mutton, squid, and kikuyu. Almost half of the agricultural goods of the Eastern Cape are produced in the Cacadu District.
Opportunities in the world-class agricultural industries of the disctrict range from farming to processing to export. Close proximity to international airports and the deep-water port at Coega as well as two industrial development zones (IZT) make the region highly accessible.
With ideal soil and climate
conditions, an abundance of natural resources and access to a large labour force, the Cacadu District is a fast developing area with investment potential ripe for the picking.
